3 hotels to stay in while traveling to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, Mexico:

Travelers of all kinds enjoy the paradise resort cities of Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo, Mexico. What visitors love the most about these two incredible beach towns is that they are so different, yet they are only 6.5 kilometers apart, that is only 4 miles if you don’t know the difference! Here is a little history on the two beach towns:

Once upon a time Ixtapa was a coconut plantation, but now boasts the ultimate, luxury Mexican getaway with high-rise hotels, all-inclusive resorts, air-conditioned restaurants and upscale shopping. Enough elegance to make people want to retire in this luxurious town.

On a completely different note Zihuatanejo was a quiet little fishing village and a backpackers hotspot. Today Zihuatanejo offers winding streets including galleries and folk art shops, small boutique hotels and palapa-style seafood restaurants serving the best catch of the day. “Zihua”, as locals would call it, has a laid-back vibe and picturesque scenery of rocky cliffs, sand and sea.
